The technology path |
|||||||
In 1912, on the territory of the coke plant was opened a raw benzole plant. The new department produced benzole in the amount of 4.6 tonnes per day. It was the last investment of the plant development process. The buildings of the carbon-based products consisted of the following: Condensation Plant, Ammonia Plant, Benzole Plant, and Boiler Plant.
A project to modernise the coke plant was prepared in 1920s, but in the end it was not executed. Only the refurbishment works were conducted. In 1935, the carburising department was slightly modernised - this covered installation of new saturators and three oil coolers. No significant investments were carried out in the plant after 1945. The mining damage and obsolete technology were significant factors in making a decision to close the plant. First was closed the carbon-based products department and the coke batteries were decommissioned in 1976.
